*Poem inspired by a photo from Sandy's Island. Golden skies are never too far Above ocean waves and a sand bar The lone bird flying free, Is now calling out to me To reach higher, in this day To find what I need, on my way The sprawl of gray in the sunshine Never looked so soft, dreams are mine This island holds me safe in this place What my eyes see, my writings trace Heidi Sands 1/20/22

Hi Heidi another Gem from your golden pen. Love the ocean but has never drawn me - too many drownings in our Indian Ocean really treacherous and on the West The Atlantic extremely cold. Awesome poem hugs blessings Jennifer.

Women seem to have a special connection to the ocean, yet the love to sit and listen to it, to watch the waves roll in, rather than run and play in the surf. Why is that?

Your writing traced the scenes beautifully Heidi. Superb imagery of lone bird flying high, the gray in sunshine. A lovely place you describe. Enjoy the dreams invoked.
