Sandcastles
Everyday of our no-stop lives we fail to see our fragility
We ignore the vulnerability of our world…living in sandcastles
Carefree and pompous we build our illusion with a grand vanity
Knowing the price but ignoring the danger…bucketing out sandcastles
Digging moats to keep problems out and fool our comforts blindly
Still we forget the cycle of tide approaching…that erodes away sandcastles
The waters crest upon our walls and devolve us all to our rudimentary
As we numbly stand watching the sea taunting…licking away sandcastles
With passing time the warring oceans recede her brigands hide away her spoils
The cycle completing the soft grains painted smooth…once holding sandcastles
Returning in number to re-polish the mirror that holds the negative and vein
With shovel in hand and a crass brazen will…rebuilding old sandcastles
At season approach the fury disregarded we admire our crayoned hard
landscapes
Destined for ruin with blind futility we keep building…unbalanced ever-yielding
sandcastles.
