sad and gut-wrenching events, Gershon. When I taught, we said The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag every morning. As the years went on, students refused to stand up and even honor the flag of the country that was providing them with so much. I felt so angry and sad each morning. Just sharing...thanks for your words!

Those kids make me sick to my stomach. Lucky for them, and me, that I was not the teacher. There would have been hell to pay 'til I got fired...

I've got tears forming as well, Bill. It's hard to watch the desecration of the flag these days, so there's something about someone's grandpa that personalizes it and reduces the 'anti-military' knee-jerk reaction of those phony rich kids.
