sad and gut-wrenching events, Gershon. When I taught, we said The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag every morning. As the years went on, students refused to stand up and even honor the flag of the country that was providing them with so much. I felt so angry and sad each morning. Just sharing...thanks for your words!

I've got tears forming as well, Bill. It's hard to watch the desecration of the flag these days, so there's something about someone's grandpa that personalizes it and reduces the 'anti-military' knee-jerk reaction of those phony rich kids.
