Sailing Mystic Seas

I've sailed across many mystic seas while hazy moonlight washed over me. I watched glittering stars shine till dawn, then closed wearied eyes and stifled a yawn. By shadowed lantern light I have written verses about flying fish and Charybdis' guzzling curses; of humpback whales that breach crested waves then plunge the ocean's depth to watery graves My mended sails still flutter in whistling winds, and as sunset glows on a horizon of sequins, upon the vastness of the seas, I will ere remain. A simpler life there, I am sure to ascertain

Jenna, I had to come read the original poem to your contest entry “Crested Waves” and I’m so glad I did! I just love the serene spirit of this exquisite poem. Your stunning imagery captured my imagination and heart and brought me into the beauty of solitude. Loved the horizon of sequins. Your talent shines, my inspiring friend. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

“Upon oceans and seas, I will ere remain A simpler life there I'm sure to ascertain“ I love this, Jenna. This means everything to me. I’m always searching for the perfect moment, or just being in the present moment. Sounds really simple, but very hard to grasp. You did that here. Beautiful write, my friend. Bravo!

Jenna, it's great to see your poetic talents recognized with your 3rd POTD this month. There is much to enjoy in this delightful maritime ode, but my favorite line is "about flying fish and Charybdis curses". No curses here, only blessings... congrats and keep up the great writing!
