Sail Away

everyone's gone now
           alone with my memories
           of the time we had
at last the boat is ready
sail away now on my tears

I really like this one. I have seen many great tanka on grief that did not make the HM list of the judge in that last contest. OH MY! I will sail away with you on this one.

This is just an excellent piece and a brilliant tear-filled Tanka that I give a "7"! Great work, Barbara. Best wishes. Pandita.

What a great and unexpected last line to your tanka, Barbara! A blue ribbon tanka! BTW, kick your husband harder to make him move! Thanks for the stop./ M
