Saga of Past
leaving Ulster for Duchess you cross the bridge
the mighty Hudson only a few gallons of gas
from climbing the cliffs
bells clinging your waist
eying the challenge of the Gunk
ruffing it at night and a plunge in the morning
to keep appearance swimming the cascade
after a hike in dew morning light
I left behind as I encounter a new community
with hearts to embrace a lone bear in its lair
waking a ruff winter in the streets of Brooklyn
a telephone call is all it takes to rouse a lonely soul
to join the rest of the world and contribute to the party
of meals shared with conversation gilding the honey
the span of comfort new under a blanket of warms
as the bells in my head still rings the plunge in the lake.
