Sabbatical Year
Listen to poem:
I’ll always remember
the amazing time
when I took a sabbatical year
leaving my job behind
to finish a bachelor degree.
The days of evening classes
would finally be over.
I savoured every single day
of being a full time
student again.
This time I lived on campus
-- the freedom !
I had regained my youth
without losing the little
wisdom I had acquired
and most importantly
I was taking nothing for granted.
I was turning back the clock.
My one and only chance!
It was fabulous
-- totally liberating!
