Runaway Poem

No poem should become a runaway; write no more than what you mean to say – determine to keep it short and definitive; no reader wants to chase a fugitive.

Jan, I'm much better at short poems than long ones. Still, I find myself writing long narratives on subjects I find myself attached to: characters, history, historical figures, etc. The problem is that I run out of inspiration and quickly loose interest in the project. So I pot it aside, often for weeks, even months, before I get to it! Short poems, on the other hand, come easy and I can often write more than a day. / Thanks for the stop by. / Maurice
