Run Run Run

Run Run Run

I used to think when I was young that I could be anyone
I used to look up to my father who used to work harder than some
I used to think you could solve everything with a fight till it’s done
I used to think knowing and learning was just a bit of fun
I used to think killing was a means to an end with a finger on a gun
I used to think loving was just emotional feelings then the emotion is gone
And now I know I can only be me and the reflection in the mirror says I’ll die as just one
I am just like my father in most ways but he brought me up too close to the sun
Fighting is the easy way out for people who cannot resolve their problems without throwing a punch
Learning is not just listening to someone and understanding but sometimes it’s to keep knowledge as armour from people who have none
Killing is easy without a conscience but its killing in the name of a belief is still a problem when a belief tells you to bomb
I used to think all my problems would stop if my legs would both run and run
