for Chantelle Anne Cooke's 'Regal Royal Relationships' Poetry Contest
The friends for whom I most sincerely care are gemstones, and forever may they shine upon the regal friendship crown I wear, for precious are these jewels that are mine! Though dull some of these gems may grow with time (for even strongest bonds can fade or die) I only need to reminisce! Sublime are thoughts I have for friends who’ve said goodbye. Most radiant are gems that have stayed true. Most priceless is the jewel – that rare friend with whom I share my secrets – the friend who fades not away but stays until the end! My loyal friends can never bring me down. They’re royal friends - bright treasures in my crown. 5/9/2020
