firmly rooted to a spot
with eyes stitched shut.
lost in a sublime
sweet serenity;
swallowed whole
by stillness.
tired mind traveling
far from the maddening crowd
to finally repose
as time grows feet
and takes off running.
moments,
all cares of today,
remnants of yesterday
ploddingly drift away
like billowing smoke.
the velvety-soft sound
of breath
piercing through
the silence.
the mind's eye
searching
for peace deep within.
all that matters...
now.
