Notes About The Poem

Roll On 2022

So here here it is the new year has begun
And already it hasn't been much fun
Another lockdown
All wearing a frown
And there's no place on earth where we can run...

We were promised a world beating vaccine
And real proof of it has yet to be seen
The virus has mutated
Mankind getting frustrated
And fed up of this enforced quarantine...

Empty promises and false hope are rife
All it brings us is frustration and strife
So roll on next year
Bring much needed cheer
And put normality back into life...

Well, Tom, I turned 70 this month and every yr now has got to be greatly used. You wrote so well the truth in this poem and yes it frustrating and yes I like , smiling, actually, at rolling over now but 4 me the idea of 71 now without anything new in my scrapbook is a bit of a downer, wearing a mask is simpler.

Hi Tom. Enjoyed this Limerick. Yes, we hear empty promises and false hope. Mother Nature asserts. Mankind is on the slippery slope. Tony

Thank you very much Carolyn, I think the most of this year will still see restrictions still in place, we just have to make of what we've got and hope that normality will be restored at some point. Tom

Fantastic Limericks for the time we’re going through Tom. Life’s getting tougher instead of better, And we’re coming to the end of our tether. If we should survive, And come out alive, Imagine wondrous getting together... Belle

Thank you Victor, while people still carry on partying and not taking it seriously it will just drag on until the virus has nowhere else to go, they still don't know if the vaccine will prevent you spreading it even though you might not show symptoms. Tom

I join you in your warm hearty prayers for a blissful, blessed and panic free new year.. Let's hope the world won't be in the wrong hands, manipulated by evil hearts, spreading fake news and promises.. Let's pray for a new radiating dawn where Nature reigns with its healing powers.. Let's hope for a true connection to the root of all good and beauty, Love that will mend all that is broken.. great poetry! A gem! Thank you so much, Tom for sharing such genuine thoughts and sentiments.. Stay safe.

Vaccines do not mean you will not get it. Lockdowns assure your death. We need, the exercise, the freedom. We are not dogs in Kennels. The second vaccine out has 2 years coverage. As my daughter said what happened to the cold and flu. Communist China did lockdowns, Italty and NYC. Many died! CA lockdown 9 months in a Row. Many dying here, Ventilators are added causes of death avoid ER rooms at all costs. Pangie. Note, we have to stand up to the goofs locking us down. Get it?

Thank you Pangie, a nurse in Wales had the (magic vaccine) three weeks later tested positive. The virus has its own agenda and will just fade away when it has no hosts to carry on. Tom
