- Rock 'n' Roll In My Head -

A feeling that the room is spinning
    especially with specific head movements
    Bout of dizziness
don't look up, down or to the side
    - just straight ahead
I loved carousels when I was a kid

    One step, one goal
grab a door frame or a chair
Vertigo... hits the labyrinth in the inner ear
    My crystals ran wild
finally the diamonds are where they should be
    I don't like carousels anymore

My mother had vertigo once, she literally spun around, it scared my daughter so badly, my mom in her 80's didn't fall, thank goodness. I hope you are feeling better Anne-Lise.

Oh you poor thing. Had a friend who had that problem with her ears too. Hope you got it under control. Not fun when it feels like you are spinning and your poem describes the feeling so well. Get well my friend. love phyl

A poetic gut punch is still a gut punch, I felt this. Seems spirit and time grew the perfect words in you for a fantastic therapy write. Oh, what we go thru to write great poetry. I respect your journey, all the little yet massive pieces I know you've gone through on a journey that's not finished with you, I suspect. Oh, Anne-Lise ...

Wow, you had it bad, huh? I only had vertigo when I was in a car, boat, or other moving object. I hate carousels - lol!

I used to keep some Stemetal near. They are out of stock now. Still, I did have vertigo for a long time. Great descriptive poem. Hope you'll get better.

A little more stable seeking as I age I find. Dizzying read. Great art! Still play a lot of rock-n-roll though -- in my blood I guess. Hope you are feeling better, Anne. When I was a kid, I had headaches, severe, everyday of my young life for many years. No fun I know.

You sure got that right. I have to stand still for a few seconds to 'get my bearings as my mom used to say' anytime I get up.
