Painting by Trevor Mitchell

A Yorkshire scene of old on river's bank… This detailed painting tempts my yearning soul. It takes me on a sweet nostalgic trip when time lingered near water’s lazy flow. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Picture 2 A Double Tetractys 8 Poetry Contest Sponsored by Eve Roper Placed 1st © 31st August 2021

A lovely scene .... every little detail of it makes one long for a visit to that enchanting river bank, where one can see so much of gaiety. Beautiful poem and beautiful painting !

Thank you, Andrea. After reading your and a couple more entries, I decided not to write about family, etc, so went for something totally different. I also had to edit after realizing that the contest rules barred the use of certain words! ~ Best regards // paul

How things were back then Paul, families enjoying time together unlike now where everyone is glued to their phones. Good luck in the contest and I hope you are keeping well. Tom

Those times will never come back again, Tom. I had a lovely childhood, even though we lacked many material things, but we experienced love and a lot of fun. Regards // paul
