Ripples fade on shore
as there will be next to fade
like a shipwrecked soul
who risks and writhes in defeat
like a dropping leaf on scream

Very concisely written! Really, the only separation between ourselves and the rest of nature is consciousness--not theirs, but ours. The leaf and fields are well aware of our existence, as are our fabricated constructions....yet man and God remain at a block.
