Rich: Part 1 - Us

Us so happened to pass me by, Down the street a youngster's cry. I chuckled at how they were Us and not, There the past created a smile I sought. Remember when we were just like that? A skip, the ball, our sandals flat? Summer gifting winter, all endless adventure, I'd always thought that we'd be together. Though The Ages pass, I always ask why-- For I was not there to say goodbye.

Excellent, Richard. Surely, there must always be a part of the universe sighing about this.

Heya Doug, thank you, and definitely. Glad that I was able to deliver this poem well. I find that I'm drawn a lot, in the thematic sense, to expressing sorts of absence, and poetry's been a powerful ally in that endeavor thus far.
