Ribbon Daughter In Law Tied
Your visit to the clinic
with your positive attitude back fired,
that dreaded word
no matter how gentle, how sincere given, stabs.
Yet you rose above all that
you fought with an energy entwined
along with the surgeon’s skill.
You lost apart of you that day,
but undeterred kicked this parasite
into touch, the score in your favour.
Your loss of hair
a symbol of courage
oh yes, chemo took its toil
but it was the cancer that died.
So to you diagnosed don’t wait
get on with your life,
because these victims are now strong
willing to help and ready for combat,
a confrontation
cancer just cannot win!
dedicated to Sheryl Horsman, my Daughter in Law,
who had both breast removed, after a most vicious form of cancer..
she as now being cleared of the diease..
