RHYTHM OF A RIVER
Poem written for “Rolling with the R’s” poetry contest, August 4, 2025, Nette Onclaud, sponsor
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
river in shadows deep time stands perfectly still. water mourns, regret and anguish~ the weight of time a wearisome sighing. in solitude it carries on river weaving sorrow. heartache flows deep. river
Lovely rictameter on river. I too have written one on this, to be entered soon. I feel that a river carries the weight of time, especially during the rainy season when it pants and roars. Lovely image. all the Best in the contest, dear Sara.
Thanks for your kind and complimentary words, Valsa. I, too, feel that a river carries the weight of time as do old trees. Will read your poem when you post it...wishing you a splendid evening, hugs, Sara
I always wonder why these rivers rush so. Are they going anywhere?... Nicely penned, Sara. Rivers can certainly be haunting reminders of man's loneliness and vulnerability.
good question about rivers...maybe they're rushing away from us humans? :-) appreciate your visit today. Have a splendid evening, Sara
