Rhyme Battle X

The contest had called for the most rhyme
poets not wasting any soup time
perched upon their not so comfy chairs
their fingers pounded their keyboards with flair

They knew the competition was stiff
as they daily checked the competitive list
some had smoke coming out of their ears
while others we're frustrated close to tears

With their rhymes pouring out on the computer screen
they all had the same poetic soupy dream
dressed up as cowboys and cowgirls all around
they posted their poems ready for the soupy showdown

Meanwhile eagerly waiting to see if they placed
they heard their spurs clink as they back and forth paced
