Rewriting Poems

i long to hold you
like a poet 
holds their pen

caress you gently
beneath the linger
of thoughts
as they fall
from the depths
of mind

play with you
like a poet 
plays with words
in the depths of poetry

lay you down
on sheets of white
in the thrusts
of metaphor
like a poem

then rewrite you again
through breathless sighs

Just a thought for next time, maybe adjust the line count to make it work for the contest? Then after you win....adjust the line count back to how you like it!!

me too ...i had a couple others in mind but they were over the line count... my short little lines make it hard to stay under 30 but wouldn't equal 10 lines of most poet's writes if i adjusted them...i like my little lines though...it's me...
