Rewriting Poems
i long to hold you
like a poet
holds their pen
caress you gently
beneath the linger
of thoughts
as they fall
from the depths
of mind
play with you
like a poet
plays with words
in the depths of poetry
lay you down
on sheets of white
in the thrusts
of metaphor
like a poem
then rewrite you again
through breathless sighs
