My muse is a poetic flower garden, blooming lilacs in barren meadows, but I still remember how I heeded haunting heartbeats in paradise, whilst praying for your lustrous light, to descend onto my hazy horizons. Your eyes like captivating sunsets, made me dream away, recalling shells lost in a forgotten coral reef, castaway upon an elusive island, where the paths have no name, but the oceanic breeze calls yours so softly. I was killing time, scribbling elegies on distant musical shores, where spotted eagle rays and flying fish were my only mentors. Nocturnal reef sharks unfolded tales beneath lonesome skies, illustrating a secretive stairway that would lead me to the scintillating stars. Deep within my heart, I knew in the darkest night you are the light that would illuminate my breathless sighs with blazing ballads rewriting my fate, reawakening my need to thrive through these endless melancholic monsoons; surfing through vast oceans. Your cosmic radiance pulled this chocolate mermaid, from the bioluminescent ripples of sorrow, empathising with endless streams from my volcanic mind and harmonious heart, which was in dire need of healing, from draconian depleted ideologies imprinted within a labyrinth of narcissistic daffodils, emanating deceptive fragrances resembling the devil's disciple, claiming me as nothing, but a mere self confessed queen on a conquest to conquer the uncontrollable calling to a land of virtual hypocrisy. If only they knew I no longer desired to rule a kingdom of tumultuous pretense. I was waiting for the return of the butterflies, tearing apart the fragile walls of its cocoon. I knew if Romeo did not die, I would be living Juliet's desires. I was a poetess searching for a purpose, with no sense to shelter, watching the last icicle of winter melt away. Truth deserves a narrative that has no ending, though I question the universe. Where do the lost poets reside? Is it where the moon chooses to hide, disguising dreariness within dazzling blankets of dancing moonscapes, or will this be how this sleepless soul seizes its faultless lunar tide?

Empress Empress. Hi. This is extraordinary and free verse all the way. You mastered free verse here. Truly. I very much love your title and poetic word choices not to mention the thought of where do the lost poets reside. In my eyes the symbol of the butterfly is captured. May your poetic pen be with you always. It was an honor turning to your page and this entry. Have a beautiful night and weekend. Peace and Blessings now and always. (smile)

So breathtaking and honest, very personal... I loved the part about "If Romeo did not die"- very deep. You mix your own life with this poem's life. A pleasure!

"Truth deserves a narrative that has no ending..." I like that. I've been a truth seeker my whole adult life, though most of my questions have been answered. As to where all the lost poets go, do you suppose Waldo is a poet? Hmmm

I am swept off my feet in love of your poetry. The longing of a mind craving for its lover's lost love and the dreams it weaves around..... so beautiful and breath taking! One cannot always wear a mask or live in a world of pretenses. The mask has to fall out and the true face exposed . "I no longer desired to rule a kingdom of tumultuous pretense. I was waiting for the return of the butterflies, tearing apart the fragile walls of its cocoon." Matchless in poetic beauty and depth of emotions. Sure FAVE

I am in awe of your creation, dearest Ink. As I read it I felt as if I was transcending reality and journeying to place of breathtaking images. Wow! These words spoke to me: I was waiting for the return of the butterflies, tearing apart the fragile walls of its cocoon. How often I've felt that way. It's tough leaving the tumultuous world of pretense in search of truth. Yet, its a worthy journey. Exquisite images and smooth alliteration abound! Outstanding. Am faving it for its poetic beauty!

Dear Ink, your poem has a mysterious feel to it that draws me to the great expanse of the water. An unnamed figure is stranded on the beach seeking elusive truths. This riddle emerges as both a perplexing tale and a poem, capturing the attention. The words' mellifluous rhythm, filled with magic, elicits a profound sensation of awe. You expertly combine alliterations and evocative adjectives, prompting a desire to transcend reality and immerse oneself in the universe of these lyrical terms.

Were these my prompts, surely sound like them.. Especially the poetic garden one... this poem is full of romance and emotions.. The adjectives you have used are beautifully poetic and the light alliterations gives it more proficiency... Where do lost poets reside? Who knows hey... This must be for Brian's contest.. Good luck

Firstly, this is a FAV for me, dear Ink! What a gorgeous piece you've woven here with so many whimsical imageries waltzing in the tapestries of love and life.. I am absolutely awestruck by the sweet cadence of the lines here along with the metaphorical magic as well.. You've also carved this poem with such gorgeous alliterations and adjectives that just make my soul want to escape to the abode of these words. The reference of Romeo and Juliet is sooo stunning as well.. Gosh, absolutely elegant

This powerful poem has a magical aura that draws me to the ocean. A mystery person is left on the shore, still searching. It is a cryptic story, as well as an enchanting poem.
