Retreated
I got the chance to visit my heart today
Lonely it lays as the beloved is far away
Once hopeless it retreated in a desert
A whirlwind came and it ran away hurt
Wrapped by bandages its wounds were hidden
Why did it try to go on a path untrodden
It walked and walked and found nothingness
The sun was laughing at its helplessness
The scorching rays left it licking its dried lips
To quench its thirst from a river it wanted to take sips
The desert stretched like loneliness
To have retreated was mere foolishness
Soon the delicate heart started to bleed
It wanted to go and could only plead
The rain then started to fall a sign of mercy
Dipped in that bliss it forgot its pain’s accuracy
