Respect
In another time, in another place
You might know my name, you might see my face
And see I'm more than the sum of my parts
You might see me here, or feel me there
Coming out of the sameness everywhere
And know that something hungers in your hearts.
I don't really want much
No not much at all
Just give me a reason
To give you a call
But the thing I'd really like most of all
Is Respect.
I like shiny cars
I like expensive bars
I want anything I can get - just the same as you
Give me love or money
Appreciate me honey
But still I need Respect - just tell me what to do
Don't leave me at home wasting time alone
I really want to appear at the astrodome
As the man we admire and support
Raise up those big blue eyes like miniture skies
Sell me all your alibis
And I'll gladly keep the ball in my own court.
Respect - It's what I want
Respect - It's the thing I need
Respect - From the lonely crowd
Respect - Satisfaction garunteed.
Respect opens all the doors
Respect fills the Ego's pores
Respect teaches a thing or two
What will it take to earn some Respect from you?
I don't really want much
No not much at all
Just give me a reason
To give you a call
But what I'd really like most of all
Is Respect.
