Remembrance In Poetry

There’s a deathly silence in the aging night of the living, a rasp of breath sneaks out across the candid moor, like the wail that fails the carousel of life! The vigorous wind slaps the face creates sensibility makes the world go away, life is a continuous storm clear skies always on the horizon only when she smiles does the sunshine. The poison within the mind in constant need, if only to forget the good times when strolling in summer madness, simplicity down school lane nature’s betrayal ever so subtle after all, one just wanted to touch the moment! © Harry J Horsman 2000

To touch the moment can be a monumental task. Voices from the past and fear of the future can be haunting companions. This is a very thought provoking write Harry.

Fantastic! Love the lines "simplicity down school lane..nature's betrayal ever so subtle" what a creative way to describe the slow loss of innocence, the moving forward from a time of youth.

Harry, A beautiful way of expressing, the want and desire, of calling for poetry. Even if it's just for that single bit. Life, is like a poem, whatever we gain out of it.. Everything is forgotten, when the brain is in command. I like the style you describe this passion, with a numb feeling or so... Love Linda

If I read this correctly, Your poem weighs heavy, and is something I think happens within the thoughts of so many of us. Deep in the dark of night, we pull out these memories, touch them, relive them for a moment..it is almost as if we do this to feel the pain of it all once again.......I often wonder why we feel such a compelling need to do this to ourselves. This is a Wow poem!
