Notes About The Poem

Remember Remember the Fifth of November

Huge bonfires burn with flames so bright, as fireworks light the sky tonight Excited children’s faces glow as we observe a stunning show; with rockets shooting in the sky but loud bangs make some children cry I set some gold sparkler’s alight my children whoop with great delight The display ends, it’s time to go my little ones say ‘oh mum no’ I take them home for pumpkin pie ... next year we’ll see more rockets fly! Beautiful poem and many memories revived of the 5th November when we had all Ricky's friend around or when we used to go to his. It was a night to look forward to as it was always a group of 5 children and each had their fireworks so they had 5 times as many - this is a wonderful bonfire fireworks poem Jan, I enjoyed it so much and faved it. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Well done, Jan! Good luck in the contest! Sadly, digital photography does not convey the firework colours, so one really needs to be there. Guy Fawkes was always sad to me as people threw antique wood on the bonfires; why not plywood or prestwood? Aloha! Rico

I'm not sure how many celebrated this year with lock down, our own local display didnt take place ... and we are covid free but have 'isolated' cases and so far none in the community:-) hugs jan xx

we are lucky here Kim as life does go on as normal as we are deemed covid free but have some isolated cases (but the number of those is increasing) many displays were cancelled this year, we didnt bother travelling to the north of the island where they were holding one:-) hugs Jan xx
