Notes About The Poem

I currently have a contest called 'Remember me.'

Just thought I would scribble an example for it.

Remember me

No one can forever soothe a soul,
as all memories evaporate like sunrise dew,
but remember me
when mist congregates at dawn.
Recognise my ghost,
when the fresh breeze brushes your lips.

I will be hiding in the khaki hues of nature,
from the first bloom,
to the last thorn,
to the last leaf,
as my spirit is the essence of four seasons,
so remember me among the 'forget me nots,'
and the scents that bring a pause.

When you paint your masterpiece of dahlia,
don't ignore the moon gazing in awe.
Unless you have given him a new name.
In the tranquillity of twilight,
notice me beaming, surrounded by lanterns.
Unless you no longer recognise my eyes.

In sun searing reveries,
as turquoise waves soften sandy ripples,
listen to spirits whispering our lyrics,
and remember me when adorning lilac fibres,
which you stripped from my chest.

When thunder knocks at your door,
and lightning flashes at your windows,
will you remember me
in the humidity after the monsoon?
When the path is dark,
and the journey turbulent,
will you commemorate me in you sighs?

I cannot return the souvenirs,
gifted to me from your words,
nor erase double edged metaphors,
where love's reflection, once glittered,
so when your muse is lifeless,
relive our recollections
without the need for ink.

Upon the arrival of silence,
when your hands have nothing to hold,
place them together
and remember me
in the sacredness we once shared.

Simple Sunday Musing.

Beautiful words live on and they're never forgotten. Your thoughts tug at the heartstrings, reminding me that life is fragile and we should hold and cherish every moment given. Soft hugs to you, Silent one. This is so tender and delicate. ~ Brandy

Beautiful poem of romantic attraction lost in temporarily-ness in which such love is located. A remembrance of the illusionary nature of this rung of Love is evocatively articulated with floral colour & nature imagery. The inclusion of images of an artist-poet is a good allusion. “double edged metaphors” is an excellent description of the poet. Last line deepens poem which primarily deals with fleeting emotions by an assertion that even each short-lived togetherness holds “sacredness” : reader assumes that such sacredness brought soul required lessons. Well done, Silent One.

Your lyrical words are now my memories, which come and go like the moon waxing and waning. Yes, no one can truly soothe us, but memories come and go like a lark. The best we can do is put our hands together in Amen. Beautifully penned.

This poem reflects the eagerness to remain in the memory of someone you still love deep and can't forget. So touching is the tone and timber of the poem. Some memories can never be erased. The deeply sad tone of the poem is haunting.

The Songbird has a beautiful voice(Eva), the song is beautiful as well, the poem tells how endearing you are, tributing to her. I loved every line, what you implied about the moon, shows you care so much. Intimate & soothing & soulful, Silent One. This is a fav. Tucking it away to remember you, forevermore. Blessings

Simple Sunday Musing my Simple Everyday Disagreement. Classic beauty. I remember your pen from years ago, then you went silent and returned with superb ink, you were always good, hit and miss on excellent poems I always liked reading. Now, you're in a league set on high and I am awed each time I read you. I may not like you anymore (I'm so kidding -just wanted to lighten up the mood in my comments.)

Dear Silent One. Your poem has a strong foundation of poetic form and structure and is harmonic and well-flowing. Both the images and the subject of recollection work well. Your language diction and metaphors are excellent.
