Notes About The Poem

Releasing the World Bound To the Pages

I open the book and turn the pages
Releasing a mythical fantasy
The world and noise around me vanish
I emerge into a world anxiously

Into a touch of real true magic
That is in the making as I breathe deep
My heart pounding under the dramatic
lasting performance my essence will keep

A hunger for another existence
With each page I turn each chapter I read
Releasing and then embracing intense
Fantasy indeed, please don’t stop I plead

Peace and dreams not wanting to close the book
Impassioned, a mystic journey I look

You can't beat getting lost in a book, Eve. Your accompanying image reminded me of the children's book 'Elidor', by Alan Garner. One of my favourites for over fifty years. you must read it if you can get a copy. Viv x
