Rekindling the Flame of Innocence

Joyful innocence of our childhood years Drawn in through perceptional memory Carefree exuberance devoid of fears Fun and frolic in continuity With fun and games our only agenda It was a whirlpool of activity Rolling in the mud we felt no stigma Flowing joyfully moment to moment Life was simple; today an enigma We recall back then, we were innocent Smiles and tears both came to us easily Instant forgiveness marked our love quotient Blissful years of our childhood passed quickly Hearts entwined back then still stand by our side Pure love motiveless; embracing fully Childhood scenes sweet; how quickly did they glide We reflect now, with this understanding We were pure of heart, one with God inside A child once more, ego surrendering Love does lead, with innocence following 18-November-2020 10 syllables per line Terza Rima poem Write on the theme of the following quote- "How sweet to the heart are the scenes of my childhood"                                    Samuel Woodworth, 1785-1842
