Hi Gershon, such is the sadness of war. Very well penned. A peaceful Yom Kippor and Shabbat Shalom. ~

Gershon this poem speaks loudly to what the citizens of the world expect and should have. I have missed your writings and I am glad to see this one posted. As always deep thought and emotion are read in this piece of yours. Thank you for sharing my friend.

Yes indeed Gershon, why does there have to be war - is it greed? It's the innocent civilians who ultimately suffer, and if they are safe, the economy suffers and they still suffer with poverty. Just think how all that waste could be used to benefit the whole world. Maria

Hello Gershon, I am glad that your well inked monorhyme keeps us focused on the reality of what every day people want. They want to live in peace and not fear the world and the hate that goes along with it. Amen! - Blessings, My Friend, Daniel

I think you could be a composer! Have you ever tried the lyrical form? That could be a poetically adventure. Love, love, the monorhyme. bas Noach, Pangie

As in any conflict it's the innocent civilians who suffer the most. Why can't people respect each other's beliefs and just live in peace. Tom

It's getting to the point whereby I just can't listen to the news any more. Poetry can heal some of the hurt though. Poets like you see and say it how it is while some world leaders see and say it how it isn't. Cheers - Gary

I can't imagine the horror that those people who are not involved in the war and only want to live a simple life in a safe place are experiencing at this moment in time. So sad to see the horror on TV. Why don't they just let the hostages go home so that peace talks can begin. I don't understand some people's mind set. Sara K

Well, not that I need to encourage Mr. Sinwar, who is exactly what his name makes him -- sin and war! -- but the hostages have been and still are the only leverage he's got. Why would he give them up -- unless he fears death at the hands of Israel?! ~ gw
