Reflections On a Roasting Pan

Reflections on a Roasting Pan The secret place where a woman goes To wonder about the way life flows. The ‘day after’ blues are setteling in, Please, a few hours to see where we’ve been. Great Uncle Dan, the turkey, another pie, Another year gone, it’s rushed right on by. New jobs, new babies, new wrinkles to see, Young people still looking at life with glee. The same stories about walking 10 miles to school. New stories about I pods, in this the young rule. This day for reflection and mopping the floor, Thank God I’m not with those 4am nuts at the store. Note: Some of my female relatives think it’s hilarious To join the throngs at the day after Thanksgiving Sunrise Xmas sales. We do have some Mutating shopping genes in this family.

Very clever poem, and I too stay away from the 4 a.m. Black Friday nonsense. Tom

Lovely write and great title. New wrinkles to see, was an inspired contrast to the preceding words. Great stuff. Love, Nigel

I love the title. I was eager to read to see what direction this write would take me. I enjoyed the read. The shopping frenzy is never for me. Hope you are well my friend.

Smile:) Ah, the reflective pan~It is good to take time, to ponder this life of ours here dear lady!~"Hello Precious & Bright, Barbara!"~And yes, I see that you have a wonderful sense of humor too~But, somehow I already could see this within you, form past comments, posts etc.~Life is very fleeting, is it not-your turn around, and it is almost gone? Don't waste a moment though, because you only get one shot at it!~"You Have A Very Beautiful Day Dear~Blessed & Bright~Love Always Unto You, John!:)

No way, Jose' ...would I venture out to shop in the dark!! That madhouse that on last night's news showed people camped in tents outside in the parking lots of Best Buy and K-Mart, so that they could be first in line! Craziness....in this world we live in!! Stores are opening their doors at 4:00am! I'm sitting here still in my jammies drinking coffee!! I might be crazy, but not as looney as some! Love this poem!:) Carrie
