Rediscovering Me

A beautiful day upon us... I stand beside Her, our fingers linked ... tight It is time, I tell Her She smiles... tentatively How does one do it, She asks... Let go... Disengage?... Do I dare, I wonder... Lurking in Her shadows is ... Safe And, I can bask in the quiet But... now, I do not want to I want to be... just Me Bare... Raw. I want to be free... Break those shackles She has imposed And, let loose... My tethered spirit I want to be... just Me Ignore the noise outside and, dance to the beats within It is time... to come out of Her shadows And let My skin feel the warmth Listen to it breathe Have the wind move through My loose tangled curls Like fingers of a lover Caressing... soothing Allow My thoughts to wander And run wild... unchecked, uncensored Assign words to those thoughts Unapologetic... Unashamedly Paint a picture... That depicts both calm and chaos Knowing there are different colours... shades galore Not black... or just white Yes it is time, I tell Her again For You, to let go of Me... And for Me, to disengage For whom, She asks For Myself, Me... and I To allow love, to find Me and for Myself, to reach love She is bemused... skeptical Is She allowed? No, I tell Her... looking straight ahead You are but, a poor version of Me... Myself and I She slips away into the shadows And Love beckons Me...

Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
