Ive seen plastic roses on our Island have heard some places are charging ridiculous prices for real roses:-( hugs jan xx

I am ambivalent on getting live flowers - while they are beautiful, they soon die, which is so melancholy - maybe a crystal rose instead?

So true, they charge what they can get away with since there's a high demand. At least the plastic ones will last longer.

nice one, jan! i don't think that solution would work for most people, though. i'm not a big fan of roses but plastic just would not do...(my friend's ex-husband always bought her a huge valentine heart filled with chocolates the day after valentine's day when it was half-price. maybe that's why he's her ex!)

We dont bow to commercialization and 'do' Valentines I get carnations for my birthday which last for many weeks and will get more after Valentines is long gone - am not a fan of roses and still have LOTS of chocs from Christmas lol:-) hugs Jan xx
