Reboot
A brother's blood cried from the ground,
Yet spared was Cain, in route to Nod.
But Lamech multiplied revenge,
Intended evil before God.
The Nephilim roamed all the earth:
The mighty men, men of renown.
The human heart, no longer good,
Forever spiraled, always down.
And so, in time, the rains began:
A deluge, not a little drip.
God, it seems, had lost his patience;
Time to right this little ship.
Only Noah found his favor,
Only Noah, in his eyes.
Thus the flood, Creation's reboot;
One small family, all else, dies.
(from Genesis 6)
