Read My Tree Leaves -- Contest
My branches, my leaves, wave in many directions
delicate empathy-seekers, they reach out
to the four corners of the world
In my trunk, the center bark-stripped
a warm, wise, comforting face is carved
It beckons passersby to stop and chat
to confide in me, for my lips are sealed
to reveal their deepest secrets
their hopes, their darkest fears
