Reaching My Destination
In the desert you forget
how beautiful green can be.
The color of health and hope.
In eastern Utah the rock formations
Were amazing ancient relics
Of a time under the ocean.
Kansas was so flat
The horizon blurred
yet I knew it was out there somewhere.
Strangely, all I could think of was
Doooorthy.
Her portrait hung everywhere,.
State by state
all the way across
Closeness
Distance
Torrential rain.
Behind and in front of
Storms.
We made it
Now all I see is the beauty
Of God's green earth.
