Raped
Raped by our dreams,
raped by our thoughts,
raped by our lives,
and what they have brought.
Raped by the cries that no one can hear,
raped by our wishes,
and all of our fears.
Raped by the words on the tip of our tongues,
raped by the air that enters our lungs.
Raped by our futures,
raped by our past,
and we don't even know 'cause its happened so fast.
Raped by our loved ones that we hold so dear,
raped by the rapist that everyone fears.
Raped by the stranger who walks down the street,
raped by the people who soon we will meet.
Raped by the light that blinds all our eyes,
raped by the world and it's little white lies.
Raped by heaven, raped by hell,
but most of all we're raped by ourselves.
