Madelyn, can you tell us who Sister Jean is, please.and her relationship to the Ramblers? Was this a recent event? Or a past one..I cannot tell The Acrostic shows your knowledge of basketball. It's a well done acrostic with joy, Poetry need not be heavy. It's best when they bubble up as this one did. Pangie xx

Sister Jean's prayer before the Loyola/Illinois game. The prayer has a bit of coaching as well. “As we play the Fighting Illini, we ask for special help to overcome this team and get a great win,” she said. “We hope to score early and make our opponents nervous. We have a great opportunity to convert rebounds as this team makes about 50% of layups and 30% of its three points. Our defense can take care of that.”

Thank you for bringing this up. Loyola is Loyola University which is in Chicago. Ramblers is the team name. Colleges and universities are now competing to be in the Sweet Sixteen. The teams are chosen by elimination until there are 16 teams left. Presently, I am hoping for a win for Loyola tomorrow. A win tomorrow will put Loyola in the Sweet Sixteen group. Sister Jean is a legend. She was appointed as team chaplain back in the '90s. She is now 101.

I was at Loyola for their first NCAA win in 1963. We have been close a few times. This just bubbled up this morning. Not a heavy subject but what is on my mind.I am hoping for a win tomorrow. Instead of "Do it for the Gipper," "Do it for Sister Jean." Madelyn McKay
