Raised In the Wild
Let us loose upon the lands our children,
So they shall be in woven sunbeams clad,
And romp free in winter’s snow-lined cauldron,
Drink in star showers, by starlings’ flight led,
With the largess of nature often fed.
Let their minds be lodged in the greenest vale,
Playful under the bluest lagoon’s spell,
In earth’s bosom give them halcyon days.
With a lasting firmness may their hearts swell,
To suffer none to debauch nature’s grace.
