Raised In the Wild

Let us loose upon the lands our children, So they shall be in woven sunbeams clad, And romp free in winter’s snow-lined cauldron, Drink in star showers, by starlings’ flight led, With the largess of nature often fed. Let their minds be lodged in the greenest vale, Playful under the bluest lagoon’s spell, In earth’s bosom give them halcyon days. With a lasting firmness may their hearts swell, To suffer none to debauch nature’s grace.

Very beautifully and artistically expressed Bernard. Your imagery is delightful and amazing, your second line especially! I really enjoyed your poem this evening :)

Your thoughtfulness of children really shows. Romping free, clad in sunbeams - beautiful!

Thanks a lot, Sunlite. I just think many city kids, as materialistically well off as they may be, are in a way deprived. This is definitely true where I live. Anyway, thank you for your kind comments :)
