rainfall cascading
quenching the thirsty parched lands

Church Update: A Blessed Visit from Pastor Dr. Ed Laurena at CBBC Tuguegarao City Mission
It was truly an answered prayer and a long-awaited blessing for our church to have Pastor Dr. Ed Laurena with us here at CBBC Tuguegarao City Mission. For the first time, we had the honor of hosting him during our Saturday Revival Service on September 6, 2025. The night proved to be a powerful time of spiritual renewal, as God's Word was preached with clarity and conviction, empowered by the Holy Spirit. The service was impactful and uplifting, inspiring everyone present.Church Update: A Blessed Visit from Pastor Dr. Ed Laurena at CBBC Tuguegarao City Mission

The gathering was attended by 64 members and 5 guests, totaling 69 attendees. We also consider it a special blessing to have Ma’am Dhel Laurena with our Pastor during this occasion, sharing in the fellowship and spiritual encouragement.
The highlight of their visit was our annual Stewardship Sunday, held on September 7, 2025. This event was eagerly anticipated by the church members. The morning service was filled with joy and excitement as we warmly welcomed Pastor Ed and Ma’am Dhel for the first time during our Sunday worship. During the service, our Pastor challenged the congregation to use their time, talents, and treasures for the glory of God, emphasizing the biblical principle found in 1 Corinthians 4:2: “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
To make the most of their visit, we held a split session in the afternoon. Ma’am Dhel led a ladies’ session focused on making right decisions, encouraging women to seek wisdom and discernment in their daily lives. Meanwhile, Pastor Ed conducted a men’s session on being good leaders in the home, emphasizing the influence of God's Word in shaping godly leadership. The church was energized and excited to gather again for the afternoon service.
Pastor Ed delivered a powerful message titled “Why Good Christians from a Good Church Turn Bad,” which challenged and stirred the hearts of all present.
The entire day’s activities resulted in meaningful decisions among the members. By God's grace, we were able to raise a significant amount for our First Fruits commitment, which is due on December 21, 2025, and will be allocated for our church lot property project.
We thank the Lord for a total attendance of 148 in the morning service and 117 in the afternoon service, including 24 first-time visitors and guests. We are also rejoicing as two individuals followed the Lord in water baptism during this blessed services.
Let us continue to pray for God's guidance and provision as we move forward in His service, and may this visit inspire us all to remain faithful and committed to His work.
Article for Sportsfest 2025, Contenders for the Faith.
All glory and praise belong to our savior for the great jubilant victory that was wrought upon all of the participants of Baptist Heritage Bible College, godly fun and joyful games as well as hearing of the Word of God was done on September 2-3, wherein BHBC celebrated it’s annual sportsfest with the theme “Contenders for the Faith” anchored upon Jude 3 which declares “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” All participants were divided into 4 groups, namely: Committed Caleb, Cautious Gideon, Courageous Joshua and Confident Joseph.
On the first day, a short program was prepared. Wherein students and participating faculty members marched while singing “Victory in Jesus” led by our Pastor. After which, a special number was rendered by the sportsfest leaders and assistant leaders. Students along with some other faculty and staff were exhorted by our very own Dr. Ed M. Laurena, to be diligent in the faith and to contend for it, and the program ended with the commencement of the games.
And on the last day before the games were resumed, a short devotion was prepared by Pastor. Christian Fundano, that as contenders, we ought to have strong courage in winning souls, a strong compassion for the lost, and strong consistency in our daily worship with the Lord. A special number “Living by Faith” was rendered by the sportsfest secretaries. Games and good food were enjoyed by all; after that, they had a awarding ceremony and the event closed with joyous feasting and picture taking. To God be all the glory!
