Rainbows At Night

And she touched my eyes...icy
cold shivers went throughout organs
as i opened these orbits, no one was there,
yet i felt her presence more than ever.

Fractals were enveloped in light
And in this light, made up of various colours,
were etherel objects.
Each object with its own color signature.

Vermillion, chartreuse, bloodred...
changed with emotions
wrapped its prey like a newborn
when close to a loved one

and with these colours we are reminded
of our solitude, our independentness
our results from choices that dictate
the evils in which shroud life.

i heard her voice again
my eyes closed and then reopened
to normalcy
how i yearn to go back just two minutes.

that's our dilemma, you know
living in either the past
or worrying about the future
But never in the present.

They did me a favour.
all three of them
together
as One.

Very profound statement in that next-to-last verse, Peter. It's difficult to stay focussed on the present when the past has made us what we are today. Even though worrying about the future seems futile, it sometimes brings solutions or new paths to follow that can enhance our lives. You have a wonderful way of taking the reader inside your mind in your poems, Peter. Always an experience to read! Love, Carolyn
