Land around here is dangerously close to flooding again will the new barriers keep it at bay? Or has it all been for nought once again

Rain cascading down flooding land water levels creeping up high banks blocked with bags of sand Creeping water flooding moorland wiping out the fields of rye rain cascading down flooding land Homes by pumps are being manned while folks stand helpless and sigh banks blocked with bags of sand While rivers by bridges spanned lay broken by torrents from sky rain cascading down flooding land Man's best laid plans no longer stand swept away, will it never dry? banks blocked with bags of sand And black clouds choked with rain vie with birds sheltering in the pig sty rain cascading down flooding land banks blocked with bags of sand.

And I thought earthquakes are difficult to deal with, flooding must be scary, these images are ominous, great write.

Shadow, mother nature can be cruel at times, your poem captured the devastation that so many must endure with flooding, it is a fear here also in my little part of Canada when all this snow starts to melt, well written, and thanks for visiting my poetry today ...

The elements of earth do play important roles in life. When scarcity of which may cause its own problems, the excess of that also creates troubles. Life seems so complicated sometimes that death can seem mysteriously attractive. Well written. Like it. And a seven. :) Rajkumar

Floods are always difficult to deal with. Too many, lose too much that is so precious to them, including family and pets. Water finds its way, no matter how one barricades. An excellent pen.
