Rain Is Coming By Tears

falling but not to my knees
you in the rain, just remembering

retina shed —
someone else's head

on my skin's old lies;
makes them now rings under my eyes,

wet pushed over —
lover behind throaty clouds that hovers

drops by the thousands.
my fingers slip

up here!
coming by tears

Tears, a phenomena of many causes, can be greater than the disappointment. I enjoy how deeply into the human heart that this tale goes.

Standing tall, after all, with retina shed, images begone, very deep! I felt I was teased a little as well as I read "Fingers slip, up here!" It gives an essence of going down then up. Smiling

I’m fascinated by the structure of your poem Paige. The lines appear to be random obscure pieces of a jigsaw yet the inner thoughts and observations come together skilfully and beautifully to help covey a sense of deep emotional release. I really like the blurring of tears with Mother Nature. Lovely work. Cheers - Gary

To dear Paige, The phrase "rain is losing tears" is one that I totally appreciate. The imagery you have created is warm, visceral, and captivating. The phrase "you in the rain, just remembering" is one of my favorites since it makes me feel a tinge of melancholy.

Beautiful Rain & Tears mixture. I like the first line. This sounds like a younger lover. I believe the retina can move around, then one needs an optic operation ~ can you believe ! Perhaps the final line could be more grounded, if it’s for readers - but if for own understanding & for you, it is ok. Be blessed beyond your fondest dreams. X
