I loved the seasonal rains when I lived in New Mexico. Great imagery using the Saguaro cactus. Enjoyed the haiku very much…brought so many memories. Thanks. John

Ahh!! What a beautiful scene you have painted. Do the desert plants bloom after a rain? Thanks for your visits. Sara

Oh, yes, it is so amazing and beautiful after we've finally had rain, especially after the worst drought in history. The skinny thirsty cactus perk up, the grass grows, wild flowers and desert flora spring forth from what looked like the near end of the world around here! It was a wonderful year of rain, last year we had almost no rain! It is so beautiful to see the life return after the horror of the deathlike grip that the drought had on this region!

Wow, that's awesome Deb! Tucson is in a beautiful part of Arizona. I have visited the Saguaro National Monument several times, and I loved it. The saguaros are so majestic, and it is fun to be lucky enough to visit during the seasonal rains. I love them. Arizona is a beautiful state <3

BJ-Oh how I remember the Saguaros. Living in Tucson for years, I spent many days looking at their lofty arms raised in search of something, just as the cactus wrens searched for a snug little nest in those outstretched arms. You took me back, and made my long to see them all over again. Great read.

Which cactus would not welcome some rain in the desert? Lovely haiku.

So true Victor! At any time those cacti would gratefully accept the precious rain! Especially now, we have been in a long drought! I just hope this rain keeps up! :)
