Rain and Thunder
With the first rumble of thunder,
came the first drops of rain;
I started to r u n for shelter,
and fell into a D O O R W A Y.
and into the arms of a man,
I pushed strands of w e t hair back;
a loud thunderclap exploded,
and lightning flashed up above.
I clung T E R R I F I E D to this stranger,
he looked at me smiling;
perhaps- I will see you home,
(he said) I hesitated o n l y a moment.
He was quite handsome for sure,
we l e f t the doorway shelter;
for some reason I knew that I was safe,
as raindrops f e l l we walked together.
