I am summer rain for whose arrival you eagerly await. Sitting on your porch, you watch my descent. As I mix and mingle the elements, kneading pulverized dust, Petrichor rises, making you intoxicated. Each of my droplets carries such grace. How the starved earth sucks them in! On asphalt roads how they glide and dance, And how quickly disappear out of sight. I am summer rain, I come and go as I like. Like teenage romance, I won’t stay long. Licking the rising flames of heat, I sink fast into the mud. But I leave giving a new facelift to the parched earth.

Well written Valsa. Loved this line the most "Like teenage romance, I won’t stay long." The purest and truest never last for long. Rain is an essential and I loved how you personified it.

poem beautifully captures the essence of summer rain, offering vivid imagery and a sense of movement that immerses the reader in the experience. The opening lines, "I am summer rain for whose arrival you eagerly await," immediately draw the reader's attention, setting the stage for a portrayal of anticipation and longing. The imagery of someone watching the rain's descent from a porch creates a sense of intimacy and connection with nature.

Rain is not always welcome but we do need it. Liquid sunshine I've heard it called. Hope you're keeping well Valsa, hope you are keeping well, enjoy your weekend. Tom

Dear valsa, what a brilliant personification. Also made me smile as i read “ like teenage romance” haha perfect simile really. And i love the way youv described rain, how they come and go as they please is so very clever of you to think from such deep perspectives, the depth and flow of this is beyond eloquent. I especially love the lines “ As I mix and mingle the elements, kneading pulverized dust, Petrichor rises, making you intoxicated.“ exquisite diction! And so very captivating! Sweet valsa the way you weave words is always so very flawless. “Licking the rising flames of heat, I sink fast into the mud. But I leave giving a new facelift to the parched earth.” Brilliant ending! A fave it is

Brilliant personification with rain as the subject. We need the rain but not excess of it. A great poem with fine imagery.
