Railway Journeys

Railway journeys

Lost are travel times,
Dressed in best for the wedding,
Took an express train,
Landed up with soot on clothes,
And coal flakes in silky hair !!

A picturesque representation of the choice of speed over convenience back in those days. A great write, Dr. Upma! Goodluck!

Oh my, the images I see with sooty flakes flying free. Good luck in the contest, James :)

I can understand the frustration!! But that's how those trains were; I had the opportunity to ride on one when I was 9 years old and can still smell the coal and smoke. gl in the contest. // paul
