has closed due to flooding of the Ottawa River

We are losing the battle with raging water. Millions of sandbags have failed us, and many have had to sadly walk away from their homes, now the bridge is closed, hydro is down, hope is gone, and more rain is expected. __________________________ April 28, 2019 Poetry/Verse/Raging Water Copyright Protected, ID 1140-271-02 All Rights Reserved. First, I appreciate this poem for marking this catastrophe. My dad, sister, and niece (3 homes) were all flooded in 2016. They were able to repair. But the clean up and stress took a long time and great toll on them. So sorry to hear of this. Prayers for all affected.

PS, thanks for visiting, I heard on the news today that thousands have lost their homes and the water has not even peaked yet, we are expecting rain, maybe snow and freezing rain today also. The water at the bridge is now going right over it. Is it all because of climate warming ???

Silent, its pretty bad now for people living near water, and it is suppose to get worse . Thanks for visiting my poem.

David, thanks for your compassion, I am safe but I know many people like my sister who live close to the Ottawa River who are not safe, they could loose everything they have worked for, and the river just keeps rising !

My city of Ottawa and area, Quebec and other places in Canada are experiencing massive flooding and many people have lost their homes already. The army has arrived to help with sandbags and emergencies but it seems hopeless to hold back the 100 year flood waters. I am safe as I am not living near water but my heart is breaking for others, I heard today that some people had to leave their homes suddenly having to leave their pets behind, that would be horrible. I hope the pets are rescued soon.
