Oh, how can I describe you, ME,
When that's the person I can't see?
I look and look, and look some more,
Then ... lose what I was looking for!
You see, my mind spins on, no ends,
Awake or sleeping, still it wends ...
On several levels, all the time,
Games and numbers, music, rhyme ...
Reading backwards, cleaning house,
(It's no mistake I'm sans a spouse),
Physics problems solved for "fun",
Now THAT should frighten ANYone!
Disposed to casting crazy lots,
Unless I grind a thousand thoughts ...
Asleep, my dreams go on and on,
From shuteye 'til I blink the dawn.
I get no rest while lids are closed,
Intent on former questions posed ...
How can I let enigmas nurse
Such myst’ries of the Universe?!?
Oh, some find "complex" people grand,
Though clearly fail to understand ...
That others often think me odd,
Preoccupied - conceptually flawed ...
And while that MAY be quite correct,
I'm glad I'm stuck with this defect,
For all these quirks are purely ME ...
And that's who I was born to be!
