Quieter Voice

Your voice is loud it commands the day
Others stop and listen when you speak
I am quiet with something to say

I may speak softly but I'm not meek
I don't need to stand on centre stage
Others stop and listen when you speak

I prefer the quiet of a page
No interruption my thoughts are clear
I don't need to stand on centre stage

I'm blessed with the power of the ear
I listen with my heart and my eyes
No interruption my thoughts are clear

You speak loudly but may not be wise
Yet many follow and do what you say
I listen with my heart and my eyes

You may not be leading the right way
Yet many follow and do what you say
Your voice is loud it commands the day
I am quiet with something to say

Thanks Eileen, I do my best to listen for quieter voices, they usually have taken the time to give their ideas a lot of consideration. Hugs back to you as well.

This is beautiful and wise, Rick! I don't believe I have a very "commanding" voice either... I can't bring myself to tell people what to do (and if I do it's in such a nice sounding voice it doesn't sound the least bit threatening). The quietness of the page is much for profound than the spoken word! Cause great effort is made to make the message clear... while exploding with high volume is all too easy to do... adding this to my favorites!

Reminds of when Elijah ran away from persecution and he hid in the cave. God wanted to speak to Him and so he send him three mighty testaments of His power...strong wind, earthquake, and fire...but after every manifestation of power..the Bible says...and God was not in the wind, the earthquake, the fire...and then there came a still small voice...the voice of GOD! This reminded me of that. Great write, Richard. Terzanelle your strong point. Your voice is heard.
