Quiet Moments of Reflection

Rocking quietly with time on my hands, I let my thoughts wander to the gift of seeing, meditating on how the head and the heart must cooperate to shape the whole being. Without the entirety of self, working together, one can never hope to achieve the desired “peace that passeth all understanding,” * promised those who seek the divine soul of God, Inspired, we creep cautiously into the unknown, each lighting the dim path for those who follow hopefully, with little regard for differences, realizing the eternal ever-promising morrow. Unity of heart, mind, and soul cultivates love for brother, sister, neighbor, beggar, outcast, all at home and abroad, whatever race or creed reaching out harmoniously to friend and foe alike. Arising from these quiet moments of reflection, a renewed sense of well-being surrounds me as conscious and subconscious meld together helping me to experience inner joy and satisfaction. *Philippians 4:7 THIRD PLACE WINNER Written March 2, 2021 Submitted to the "Inner Alignment" Contest Sponsored by Unseeking Seeker SECOND PLACE WINNER May 23, 2021 Submitted to "What Brings You Peace" Contest Sponsored by Chantelle Anne Cooke

A deep and reflective write, Milton. Your lines "without the entirety of self, working together, one can never hope to achieve the desired 'peace that passeth all understanding'" caught my attention and I realized that was true! Congrats on your win! Blessings, Kim M

Fascinating to me: My mentor, R. Ahron Soloveitchik, of blessed memory, wrote a great book titled: Logic of the Heart; Logic of the Mind. Sure goes well with your wonderful verse on the mind and heart working together in unison. Peace and Tranquility, Gershon

Beautifully said Milton. It's in these quiet moments that we can connect with our God and learn from HIm. If we open our hearts and our mind He will speak to us, teach us and give us the peace we seek. Great job here. God Bless, JB
